DS Smith Packaging at Burwell is working with the horticultural industry to develop a whole new range of corrugated packaging for flowers, plants and shrubs. With internet sales taking off, there is a growing demand for packs which can protect delicate products in transit, such as Burwell’s rose / climber pack. This dual-height box is ideal for a single climber and can be adapted to hold shrubs or young roses. There is a closure at each end and convenient hand-holes for carrying. What’s more, the pack is telescopic which means the height can be doubled.

If you want to send a tree through the post, then Burwell has a selection of boxes developed in conjunction with Mail Order Trees.co.uk. The boxes have strength and flexibility in mind, all made in sturdy double-walled corrugated, printed or plain. Also telescopic, these packs can accommodate trees up to 2.5 metres in height. Then there’s the bulk plant boxes that can range in depth from 300mm to 800mm, available in a number of different formats.

Of course, every corrugated pack is 100% recyclable, which makes it as natural and environmentally sustainable as the product it’s protecting.
