Classic Retail Ready Box from DS Smith Packaging

Thorntons new Classic collection of Easter Eggs for Easter 2009 is being distributed and retailed in a retail ready box that perfectly complements the high quality brand image and helps reduce overall packaging by 40%. Produced by DS Smith Packaging Clay Cross, the new pack supports Thorntons’ drive to reduce the total amount of packaging used to protect its popular Easter egg range. It has a recycled content in excess of 70% and is 100% recyclable. The pack uses a recycled fluting that has been specially treated to withstand chilled storage conditions.
The design employs stunning three colour print to work in harmony with the primary packs. On shelf, the Classic brand stands out from the crowd with a visually distinctive appearance.
From a technical point of view, the use of perforations enables the pack to be opened easily without any tearing. There’s a clean finish on the face of the pack with a front aperture providing an obvious starting point for the opening procedure.
The new box holds four Easter Eggs and works efficiently within the hand packaging operations favoured by Thorntons to give maximum protection to these delicate products. It is sized to fit two deep on the shelf, making excellent use of space and helping to keep the products available in the Easter rush.
